Where Structure Meets Soul
We’re not your average dog training company. At The Good Shepards, we believe dogs thrive when they feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger. That’s why everything we do—from structured training to pack walks and daycare—is rooted in connection, communication, and care that goes beyond the basics.
Whether you’re struggling with leash manners, reactivity, or just want a calmer life with your dog, our team is here to guide you with honesty, experience, and a whole lot of heart.
The Good Shepards began with a minivan, two leashes, and a love for the pack.
After working with hundreds of dogs, especially in the post-COVID world, we started to see a pattern. So many dogs were anxious, overstimulated, and disconnected from the kind of structure they need to thrive. That’s when we got serious about training—not just to fix behavior, but to help dogs feel more grounded, safe, and fulfilled.
Today, we’re proud to serve the Yorba Linda community with a full team, two training facilities, and a growing group of well-balanced dogs and families who are all part of something bigger.
Meet Isabella
Founder of The Good Shepards
Isabella Shepard never set out to start a dog training company—but life had other plans. What began as a few pack walks quickly turned into a calling. Inspired by the healing nature of dogs and the power of structure, Isabella built The Good Shepards to give dogs and their people a better way forward.
She’s a trainer, a leader, and a dog person through and through—but more than anything, she’s someone who believes in growth, both for the dogs and the humans she works with.
Our Mission
We help dogs live more structured, confident, and fulfilled lives—and we help their humans do the same.
Training isn’t about perfection. It’s about building trust, learning to lead, and creating a peaceful rhythm at home and out in the world. Through balanced methods and a pack-based approach, we give our clients the tools to raise dogs who are calm, capable, and truly part of the family.
Our Values
Honesty and Transparency – We tell it like it is, in a kind and supportive way. No sugarcoating, no blame—just real conversations that lead to real change.
Community and Connection – We treat our clients like family. Our dogs don’t just come in for a lesson—they become part of something structured, safe, and ongoing.
You stay involved
We recommend you’re present for at least three of the sessions, so you can learn alongside your dog and build confidence handling things on your own.Growth and Accountability – We hold ourselves and our clients to high standards because we know the outcome is worth it: a dog who listens, respects, and thrives.
